Job Summary
The Protection and Control Relay Technician at PHASOR Engineering Inc. is responsible for executing testing and commissioning of MV/HV protection and control schemes, conducting relay injection testing, performing SCADA point verification, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 4+ years of relevant experience, and a strong knowledge of relay test equipment. Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities while being flexible to work extended periods away from home.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institution
- 4+ years of relay testing experience focused on protection and controls within the electrical utilities sector
- Working knowledge of Omicron CMC356, CMC500, or comparable advanced relay test sets
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle concurrent priorities
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
