Job Summary
Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations, leading month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cash flow monitoring while ensuring compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and internal controls. Prepare financial statements, support annual audits, and collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Provide practical financial guidance to cross-functional teams and strengthen internal processes through system optimization and policy development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Demonstrated experience leading month-end and year-end close processes
- Experience supporting annual financial statement audits
- Proven experience with grant and contract financial management
- Strong understanding of internal controls
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting and financial systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative and service-oriented approach
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Ability to work during Eastern Time Zone business hours
