Propulsion Technician (Raptor Turbopump Assembly)

Job Summary

Conduct precision mechanical assembly for Raptor turbopump subassemblies using calibrated tools and technical drawings. Execute manufacturing processes including tack welding, fastener installation, pressure testing, and cryogenic thermal part fitment. Perform blending, filing, shearing, and dynamic balance operations while maintaining clean station standards. Document build feedback to leadership and communicate blockers to support process improvements. Assist other production areas as needed and adapt to shifting roles in a high-paced environment. Work standard 10-hour shifts with potential weekend support and overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in turbomachinery or other engine or rocket mechanical assembly
  • Must be able to work standard 10 hour shifts, 5 days a week with additional weekend support/overtime when needed
  • Must be able to travel to other sites if needed
  • Must be able to support other production areas when needed
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs unassisted and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work first shift (5:00am – 3:30PM)
  • Must be able to support overtime and weekend work requests
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee (or eligible for required authorizations)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on aircraft or rocket engines
  • Experience working in an automotive or mechanic environment
  • A&P license
  • Able to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment
  • Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem solving and decision-making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet aggressive schedules
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office
