Job Summary
Perform propulsion system support and analysis as part of a larger flight science team. Define requirements for propulsion, auxiliary power, and air breathing systems, while coordinating functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and vehicle. Configure propulsion sub-systems and components to meet vehicle design criteria, using testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate system performance. Support certification test definitions and review qualification documentation for engines and components. Assist with ground and flight test planning and develop concepts for future propulsion systems. Work across fighter aircraft, unmanned aircraft, and missile programs in the St. Louis region, with 10% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 2+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education
- Willing to travel at least 10% of the time
- Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain program access
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education
- Propulsion ground and flight test experience
- Experience with jet engines and/or air breathing propulsion operation fundamentals
- Propulsion analysis, integration design, system installation, or support experience
- Propulsion system certification or qualification experience
- 3D modelling, NX, Unigraphics
