Job Summary
Proposal Specialist IV at AECOM leads large, complex federal proposals from capture through interview, serving as a proposal manager within the Federal Marketing team. The role coordinates with business-line growth, operations, and cross-disciplinary teams to respond to RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, ensures print and electronic deliverables, conducts market research and competitive intelligence, and drives strategy and scheduling. Responsibilities include drafting and guiding sections (cover letters, executive summaries, past performance, management approaches, staffing), facilitating workshops, conducting debriefs, maintaining compliant proposal content, managing secure project files and CRM, and contributing to strategic planning and training. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant proposal experience, strong writing/editing skills, proficiency in InDesign and the Microsoft suite, and demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Journalism/English/Communications/Marketing, familiarity with AECOM’s projects and tools (SAM.gov, GovWin, FedConnect, SalesForce), and experience with collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint). The role is hybrid, based in Arlington, VA, with no sponsorship for US work authorization and relocation assistance not offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree + 6 years of experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Strong knowledge of proposal best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools as related to Federal proposal management of RFQ/P responses.
- Strong working knowledge of InDesign as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation writing and production.
- Demonstrates excellent writing and editing skills, consistently applying strong attention to detail and a drive for continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.
- Evidence of successful leadership.
- Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, guide deliverable efforts by others, and manage documents and deadlines effectively.
- Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to completion.
