Job Summary
Proposal Manager responsible for all technical aspects of capital-goods projects from initial RFQ stage to firm binding commitments, coordinating with sales, fronting proposal managers, and cross-functional process experts to ensure technically sound offers. Manages BOM and quantities based on GA drawings and PIDs, coordinates with specialists (thermal and mechanical design, structures, electrical, instrumentation, quality control) and sub-contractors, supports technical exchanges with clients, and oversees transfer of signed orders to execution. Requires BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Production Engineering, 8+ years in engineering/technical project management for steel-industry capital projects, experience establishing and updating technical offers, drawings review, and defining supplies/services; proficient in English and modern IT tools (Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, CRM, SAP). Willingness to travel; capable of leading a small team and coordinating international project execution.
Required Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Production Engineering
- 8 years’ experience in engineering/technical project management for capital goods projects
- experience with steel-related processes (e.g., reheating furnaces, continuous annealing/galvanizing lines, cold rolling mills, pickling lines)
- ability to draft technical offers and RFQs, verify drawings and process diagrams, define supplies/services, draft performance per design reviews
- good English communication; proficiency with Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, Dynamics CRM, SAP; willingness to travel
