Job Summary
Proposal Manager role leading end-to-end defense proposal development from capture to submission. Manage national, multi-regional, and local responses to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs; establish and refine proposal processes; ensure adherence to corporate standards for efficient, high-quality submissions. Collaborate with Business Developers, Capture Managers, and teaming partners to craft winning strategies; develop outlines, compliance matrices, and storyboards; shape messaging to differentiate solutions. Coordinate resources and logistics across BD and operations; lead color team reviews and ensure recovery plans; liaise with subcontractors and assemble inputs. Develop proposal templates, outlines, and compliance documentation; write and edit narrative content and persuasive presentation materials; ensure final submissions are polished, compliant, and on time. Requires 5+ years in defense proposal management, government contracting knowledge, MS Office/SharePoint/Adobe proficiency, exceptional communication, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams. Bachelor’s degree preferred; Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain. Remote work arrangement with minimal travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred)
- Active Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain one
- 5+ years of defense sector proposal management experience
- Strong working knowledge of Government contracting and federal solicitations
- Proven ability to analyze RFPs and guide teams through compliant, high-quality submissions
- Demonstrated success leading meetings, managing color reviews, and producing final deliverables
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), SharePoint, and Adobe
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture
- Highly organized and able to juggle competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexible with occasional non-standard work hours when submission deadlines loom
