Job Summary
Proposal Coordinator/Writer for DoD/federal proposals. Develop, write, and submit compliant, persuasive proposal content in response to government solicitations (RFPs/RFQs). Collaborate with capture managers, SMEs, program managers, and executives to produce technical, management, past performance, staffing, and executive summary volumes. Ensure FAR/DFARS compliance, manage proposal schedules, production, templates, and a library of reusable content. Lead final edits, quality control, and post-submission activities; coordinate with contracts and pricing teams to ensure proposal accuracy; translate complex technical concepts into clear narrative; maintain and update proposal content libraries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Business, or a related field is highly desired
- Formal Shipley Associates training or demonstrated experience applying Shipley proposal methodologies
- A minimum of 2–4 years of proven experience in federal government and/or defense contracting proposal writing
- Familiarity with government procurement processes and regulations (e.g., FAR and DFARS)
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word)
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure 100% compliance with all solicitation requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Formal Shipley Associates training or demonstrated experience applying Shipley proposal methodologies
- Experience supporting proposals for the Department of Defense, Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force, or other federal agencies
- APMP or Shipley training/certification
- Familiarity with government procurement processes and regulations (e.g., FAR and DFARS)
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word)
- Experience managing proposal content libraries and reusable templates
- Ability to synthesize complex information into persuasive narratives
- Attention to detail to ensure 100% compliance with solicitation requirements
