Job Summary
Proposal and Estimating Engineer needed to develop proposals and estimates for industrial automation solutions across Consumer Products, Food and Beverage, Life Sciences, and Material Handling industries. Responsibilities include reviewing RFPs and drawings, meeting with customers to clarify scope, identifying labor, material, travel, and time requirements, computing costs, resolving discrepancies, collaborating with E Tech engineers and project managers, presenting estimates, creating proposal documents, generating special reports, maintaining cost databases, and staying updated on technical knowledge. Role requires working remotely within EST and travel less than 15%, with emphasis on methods, tools, and processes to standardize estimation and proposal practices across the business unit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of Industrial Automation experience directly related to design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering
- Extensive experience using Company methods, tools, and processes specific to estimating and proposal management standards
- Extensive Excel / Spreadsheet Experience
- MS Project Experience is a plus
- Understanding of ERP / Project Costing Systems and parametric estimation tools
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, technical documentation as well as RFP/RFQ documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork
