Job Summary
Property Technician at NIH’s National Eye Institute (NEI) supporting property management operations. Manages government-owned property within NEI buildings, serves as an asset custodian, processes acquisition, transfer, clearance, and loan documentation, attaches NIH decals, maintains personal property records, reconciles inventories, and uses the NIH property management portal and nVision system to track transactions and resolve discrepancies. Interfaces with senior staff to advise on classification, inventories, transfers, and property records; conducts physical reviews to ensure proper storage and accountability; coordinates with program staff and office solutions on renovations and relocations; ensures audit-ready documentation and compliance with federal property management rules. Basic qualifications include an associate-equivalent education/experience, experience with electronic property management databases, and relevant experience in military/research/clinical/medical settings; preferred qualifications emphasize communication, organization, and task prioritization.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field. Two years of specialized experience plus a high school diploma is equivalent to an associate degree.
- Minimum of two years of related experience; experience with an electronic property management database such as Sunflower.
- Documented experience in a military, research, clinical, or medical setting and/or identifying and coding scientific/laboratory, clinical, and office equipment.
- Working knowledge of Federal property management rules and regulations;

- Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
