Job Summary
Senior Property Risk Engineer to deliver advanced technical risk assessments and risk-management guidance for underwriting and clients. Responsibilities include performing on-site property risk assessments and operational reviews, generating detailed risk engineering reports, collaborating with underwriting to assess risk quality on new and renewal business, providing risk surveys and loss-prevention strategies, analyzing natural hazards, and offering risk-improvement recommendations. The role supports complex accounts, maintains client relationships as a trusted advisor, shares technical insights on emerging risks and industry loss trends, mentors less experienced engineers, and may require up to 20% travel for client-site evaluations. Competencies include strong analytical, communication, and client relationship skills, experience with account engineering or external risk engineering providers, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Employment is contingent on background checks and compliance with E-Verify requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of Property Risk Engineering experience
- Strong understanding of property insurance risk evaluation, loss prevention, natural hazards, and fire protection systems
- Ability to travel up to 20% for client site visits and risk assessments
