Job Summary
Conduct residential unit repairs, modernization, and general maintenance to restore vacant housing to occupancy standards. Clean and prepare units by sweeping, mopping, washing, and disinfecting. Install and repair drywall, insulation, framing, doors, windows, locks, cabinets, and mailboxes. Replace plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and perform light HVAC servicing and furnace assessments. Execute painting, texturing, finishing, and general carpentry work using hand and power tools. Maintain assigned vehicle and tools while writing detailed work completion notes. Adhere to HUD regulations, Housing Authority policies, and safety standards including PPE requirements. Complete assignments efficiently and participate in ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years of residential or commercial maintenance/construction experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Exposure to construction-related environmental conditions
- Exposure to moderate construction-related risks
- Mechanical, electrical, chemical, and environmental hazards
- Use of required safety gear and protective equipment
- Priority will be given to current residents Paducah County residents
Desired Qualifications
- Maintenance certifications (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical)
- HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical training
- UPCS training (or willingness to obtain)
