Job Summary
The Property Management Attorney will review eviction requests, consult on eviction cases, and litigate unlawful detainers for THC. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, managing legal files, and offering counsel on relevant laws. The position requires effective communication, analytical skills, and the ability to supervise legal interns. A Juris Doctorate and California Bar license are mandatory, along with a minimum of 2 years in landlord-tenant law.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required
- Must have a license to practice law in the State of California, and must be in good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing landlord-tenant law
- Strong knowledge of San Francisco landlord-tenant law and contract law
- Familiar with San Francisco Superior Court procedures
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to read, understand, apply language, and make independent decisions
- Demonstrated analytical, critical and strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Conflict resolution experience
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Proactive self-starter with ability to take initiative
- Ability to manage multiple cases and projects with limited guidance
- Must pass all post-contingency offer background checks, reference checks, and TB screening clearances.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse, low-income, homeless or formerly homeless population preferred.
- Experience working in non-profit or public sector preferred.
