Job Summary

The Mustard Seed.role coordinates property management and housing support for Permanent Supportive Housing in Red Deer, overseeing tenant management, maintenance coordination, and policy compliance to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy living environment. The role handles rent collection, notices, move-in/move-out scheduling, and communications with tenants, while coordinating referrals to internal programs and external community services. It involves building relationships with community agencies, documenting interactions, and supporting residents’ well-being and housing stability, working collaboratively with residents, their support networks, and case workers. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, discretion with confidential information, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed; a humanitarian focus and understanding of homelessness in Alberta are essential. Training on safety protocols is provided, and a company vehicle is used for duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in property management or administrative role
  • Accreditation in CPM or RECA an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with Property Management software platforms or RealPage an asset
  • Experience with client engagement and providing support within supportive housing or human services, with the ability to build rapport, address resident concerns, and promote housing stability through appropriate service connection and follow-up, including coordinating access to internal and external service
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities at once
  • Organizational, administrative and computing skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a cross functional team
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in stressful situations including experience in active listening, de-escalation techniques, and working with a high-risk population
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality
  • A passion to be part of ending homelessness in Alberta and understanding of homelessness and desire to work with marginalized individuals
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract required

Additional Requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
