Property Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform general maintenance and repairs in apartments and common areas, completing work orders efficiently while troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, and carpentry issues. Conduct preventative maintenance and property inspections to monitor interior and exterior conditions, maintaining grounds, buildings, and amenities to high standards. Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed, ensuring all on-call emergencies are addressed within 20 minutes per a rotating schedule. Prepare apartments for new residents and manage unit turnovers while communicating daily status updates to management. Maintain accurate logs for trash pickups and snow removal to ensure billing timeliness.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of maintenance experience
- Must be able to physically inspect the properties
- Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, groundskeeping, and troubleshooting
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment including circular saw, drill, jig saw, electrical tester, hand tools, power tools, and cordless tools
- Maintain valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Flexibility with working hours and availability for on-call emergencies
- Ability to prioritize and possess efficient time management skills
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with ability to handle complaints in a positive and time efficient manner
- Goal-oriented and team player
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance and interactions with others
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel to all trainings and meetings arranged through the Corporate office periodically throughout the year
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-family property maintenance experience
- Experience in apartment, residential, commercial, or general maintenance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
