Property Maintenance Technician - $1,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Job Summary

Monitor all interior and exterior areas for maintenance issues, performing inspections of apartments, buildings, and common areas. Maintain and keep all tools and equipment in acceptable working conditions while executing electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, carpentry, and groundskeeping repairs. Troubleshoot and replace appliances, windows, locks, and fixtures; assist with cleaning, painting, and unit turnovers. Communicate daily with the manager on work orders, provide status updates, and maintain accurate logs for trash pick-ups and snow removal. Perform preventative maintenance on emergency systems and respond to on-call emergencies after hours and weekends within 20 minutes.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience
  • Must be able to physically inspect the properties
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, groundskeeping, and troubleshooting
  • Must be able to use a variety of equipment including circular saw, drill, jig saw, electrical tester, hand tools, power tools, and cordless tools
  • Maintain valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Flexibility with working hours and availability for on-call emergencies
  • Ability to prioritize and possess efficient time management skills
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to handle complaints in a positive and time efficient manner
  • Goal-oriented and team player
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance and interactions with others
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and as needed
  • Must be able to travel to all trainings and meetings arranged through the Corporate office periodically throughout the year

Desired Qualifications

  • Multi-family property maintenance experience
  • Strong general maintenance skills
  • Experience with appliances, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
  • Bilingual skills
  • Must be dependable, hands-on, and willing to work as part of a team
