Job Summary
Property Clerk responsible for custody and disposition of inmate and institution property, including preparing clothing changeovers for releases, exchanging inmate clothing, and entering property documentation in the database. Performs filing, copies paperwork, processes inmate request forms, launders/stores inmate clothing, inventories supplies, answers calls, and maintains standard records. Requires general knowledge of record-keeping methods and regulations governing jail property, ability to follow routine schedules, and proficient use of standard office/data-entry equipment. Valid Virginia driver’s license and successful completion of background checks and polygraph are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimal experience in customer service-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Pass criminal background check, Drug Test, DMV check and polygraph examination
