Job Summary
Investigate and resolve moderate complexity homeowner property claims by conducting field inspections at least 50% of the time, documenting damages with photographs and measurements, and writing repair estimates. Handle virtual claims using advanced video technology to collaborate with vendors and insureds when physical access is limited. Compare gathered facts against policies to determine coverage, establish reserve amounts within settlement authority limits, and negotiate settlements or recommend approvals for claims exceeding personal limits. Communicate effectively with insureds and representatives via phone, email, and text to ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to Department of Insurance requirements. Manage workload to monitor progress and expenses, occasionally directing independent adjusters to conclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain state specific property claims licensing
- Must successfully participate and complete formal property claims training program
- Ability to perform field inspections at least 50% of work time
- Prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate
- Experience in a related field: property claims experience, customer service environment, construction, restoration, mitigation
- Are known for clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
- Possess the ability to work independently with limited or no supervision
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Possess strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Be able and willing to work flexible work shifts
- May be asked to work overtime
- Drive to and from multiple locations
- Occasionally outside of normal business hours
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Are bilingual
- Have prior military experience
- 3-5+ years equivalent industry experience
- Have a passion for outstanding customer service
- Make quality decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
- Be comfortable with and adaptable to new technology and business tools
- Be able to seamlessly transition between various methods of inspection, including physical, video, or photo
