Property Claims Adjuster II (Austin, TX - WFH)

Job Summary
No two property claims are the same; as a Field Claims Specialist, you’ll investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and face-to-face. The role covers Austin, TX and surrounding areas with a work-from-home setup and day travel to policy locations (roughly 3-4 days per week) via company vehicle. Inspections may be onsite or virtual, with occasional overnight travel. Responsibilities include determining proper policy coverages, opening/adjusting reserves, coordinating with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation, preparing files for lawsuits or subrogation, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining knowledge of local repair procedures and pricing. Requires Xactimate certifications, ability to lead less experienced colleagues, and readiness to perform physical inspections (rooftops up to 8/12 pitch) and travel as needed. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates outside the territory.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience
- Solid experience with Xactimate
- Experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish
- Construction background/experience - Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, etc.
- Strong customer service competency
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- License/Certification/Designation: State licensing where required
- Xactimate Level 1 and Level 2 certifications within specified timeframes
- Ability to safely access and inspect rooftops using a ladder
- Must be able to travel and work irregular hours; CAT duties may be required
