Job Summary
Property Book Custodian responsible for maintaining accountability of government property, equipment, and assets in DoD property management compliance, managing asset tracking, inventory reconciliation, and lifecycle activities; coordinates with government personnel, supply representatives, and end users; utilizes DoD property management systems (DPAS/ELMS) to input, retrieve, and maintain records; conducts inventories and audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance; prepares reports and supports logistics and supply management related to government-owned property.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting property book operations, supply systems, logistics management, or inventory control functions.
- Extensive knowledge of Department of Defense property management principles, regulations, and supply systems.
- Experience utilizing automated recordkeeping systems and database management applications.
- Working knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Experience with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and/or Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
- Proficiency using computers and standard office software to manage records, prepare reports, and maintain documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with personnel at all organizational levels to resolve discrepancies and support mission requirements.
