Job Summary
Property Adjuster Trainee participates in a formal 15-week training program to learn claims handling and property estimating within ERIE's Property Damage division. The role operates from a home office with daily travel to conduct property inspections in Frederick, Baltimore, Montgomery, Howard, Annapolis, and Queen Annes counties; a company car is provided after training. Trainees will learn the computer-based estimating system, handle claim functions such as establishing reserves, taking statements, documenting activities, and adjudicating losses to final disposition, and will work alongside mentors and supervisors to gain field experience and understand workflows in the branch office and within the assigned territory. The program prepares individuals for the Property Adjuster role with opportunities for career development and a comprehensive rewards package. The successful candidate will be transitioning to Property Adjuster I after completing the training and meeting course objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses
- Physical ability to climb onto roofs and lift/ladders
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
