Job Summary
Conduct investigations, interviews, and site inspections to prepare estimates, determine coverage, and negotiate claims with attorneys. Set reserves, direct experts, and issue or decline payments while documenting files for closure. Recognize subrogation opportunities and initiate appropriate action. Services the assigned territory, bringing claims to conclusion through interaction with agents and district sales managers. Assists the claims supervisor by representing the company at legal proceedings when required. Participates on the Catastrophe Team, which may involve travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- five years of claims handling experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- two years of claims handling experience
- Incumbent must live in territory assigned
- Position requires the incumbent to serve on Catastrophe Team
- travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks
- Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses
- Valid driver's license
- good driving record
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting aide equipment
- Climbing/accessing heights
- Driving
- Lifting/Moving 0-20 lbs
- Lifting/Moving 20-50 lbs
