Job Summary
Identify and source new property opportunities in line with organisational strategic direction, ensuring value for money and security of tenure for Housing First Service Users. Supervise and manage the Housing Officer team while developing a pipeline of properties to meet delivery requirements. Project manage the acquisition process, including budget, timeline, due diligence, stakeholder management, and handover, followed by negotiating leasing contracts with public and private landlords. Collaborate with stakeholders such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities to establish partnerships, submit CAS and CALF funding applications, and monitor development progress through site meetings. Ensure properties are maintained to excellent standards and compliance with Health & Safety regulations. This 12-month fixed-term role in Dublin supports Depaul's mission to end homelessness, requiring a minimum of two years in social housing development and relevant third-level qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years working in a development role within the social and voluntary housing sector or similar environment
- A relevant third level qualification in construction, project management on construction projects, QS, design, housing or equivalent, or working towards same
- Knowledge of current Irish building regulations and landlord-tenant legislation
- A minimum of 1 year of regular use of IT systems with a good proficiency in Excel, Word & Databases
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- A commitment to and an understanding of equal opportunities and diversity issues
- A commitment to high standards of Health & Safety best practice
- Commitment to the provision of quality standards of housing for tenants
Desired Qualifications
- A full driving licence and use of a car
- Experience in working with other support providers i.e. Housing First & SLI
- Understanding of why people become homeless or may be at risk of homelessness and the issues they present with, particularly in relation to substance misuse
