Job Summary
Property Accountant responsible for all financial and analytical procedures for a group of assigned multi-family properties, including preparation of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow), monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, bank reconciliations, GL postings, balance sheet workpapers, and roll-forwards. Oversees rent collection and tenant-ledger accuracy; manages accounts payable and intercompany reconciliations; monitors daily cash balances and priority expenditures; analyzes lease and loan agreements for financial implications and revenue recognition; collaborates with Community Managers to provide financial insights, prepares annual audit packages and liaises with external CPA firms; supports acquisition/disposition accounting, job cost tracking, and draw-to-GL reconciliation. Requires a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of real estate accounting experience; GAAP knowledge; strong communication and organizational skills; advanced Excel; Yardi knowledge; CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
