Property Accountant

Job Summary
Serve as the primary accounting contact for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties, performing full month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements, conduct variance analyses, and maintain tenant ledgers for rent, CAM, and lease-related charges. Partner with Accounts Receivable to support timely collections, review and approve invoices, and manage loan payment schedules. Lead the annual property budgeting process, prepare audit schedules, and support external audits and quarterly lender reporting. This full-time, on-site role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, with an 8-5 schedule. The ideal candidate brings commercial real estate accounting experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA
- 3+ years of commercial real estate property accounting experience
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting for multiple properties
- Experience preparing CAM reconciliations, annual budgets, and audit support
- Proficiency with MRI Software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to manage an assigned property portfolio with minimal supervision
- Analytical thinker who enjoys identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
