Property Accountant - Part Time

Job Summary
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries for assigned properties, processing rent collections, vendor payments, and owner distributions. Reconcile bank statements, security deposits, and trust accounts monthly while generating P&Ls and balance sheets. Assist in budget preparation, CAM and tax reconciliations, and year-end audit support. Coordinate with managers on reporting needs and ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards. Requires a degree in accounting, 2+ years of property management experience, and proficiency in AppFolio. Offers flexible scheduling, PTO, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in property management accounting
- Proficiency with AppFolio or similar property management/accounting software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting best practices
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, formulas, VLOOKUP)
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
