Job Summary
Property Accountant needed for Sandalwood Management's Austin portfolio. Responsible for AR & GL functions for retail and office properties, including lease data verification in Yardi, accounts payable oversight, monthly bank reconciliations, month-end close entries, accrual review, tenant ledgers, and preparation of monthly financial statement packages. Role requires in-office attendance daily, proximity to the corporate office, and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have a BA/BS in accounting/finance, 1-2 years corporate accounting experience, familiarity with commercial leases, proficiency in Excel, and experience with property management software (preferably Yardi). Must be detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to multitask while maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- 1 to 2 years of corporate accounting experience
- Experience with commercial property management preferred
- Familiarity and understanding of commercial lease agreements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Experience with property management software applications, preferably Yardi
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask
- Collaborative and team focused attitude
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a high volume fast paced environment
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
