Propane Delivery Driver

Job Summary
Drive tank truck or bobtail to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, lubricating oil, or liquefied petroleum gas to customers. Contact current and potential customers to inform them of petroleum marketing programs, analyze needs, and promote products professionally. Load truck with product while observing safety measures, maintain radio contact with supervisor, and deliver to tanks ensuring correct products are loaded and tanks are not overfilled. Record deliveries, issue tickets, collect past-due accounts or cash, and turn in sales information and money routinely. Monitor and record inventory at the bulk plant, ordering product as needed, and perform routine vehicle maintenance. Measure, cut, thread, and connect pipes to feeder lines, trench lines, and make necessary repairs or installations. Inspect truck equipment including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements, DOT physical, and commercial insurability at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements
