Propane Delivery Driver

Job Summary
Drive tank truck or bobtail to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, lubricating oil, or liquefied petroleum gas to customers while maintaining radio contact with supervisors for delivery instructions. Contact current and potential customers to inform them of petroleum marketing programs and analyze their needs to match appropriate products. Load trucks safely, record delivered amounts, issue tickets, and collect cash or accounts receivable in compliance with company credit policies. Monitor and record inventory at the bulk plant, ordering product as needed, and perform routine vehicle maintenance. Inspect truck equipment including tires, brakes, and fluids, and measure, cut, thread, and connect pipes to feeder lines for tank installations. Maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements and DOT physical.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements
