Job Summary
Promotora delivering the program model through in-home family education services, aligned with Social Determinants of Health via a trauma-informed lens; responsibilities include explaining healthcare/human services advances, driving achievement, addressing community needs with evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, maintaining professional ethics, and demonstrating strong interpersonal understanding in cross-cultural contexts; requires high school diploma or GED, optionally CHW certification, bilingual English/Spanish, and Texas vehicle operator’s license; role involves transporting materials and delivering curricula in homes and community sites in San Antonio, TX.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Community Health Worker certificate preferred, or experience in community-based environment
- Complete an approved Nurturing Curricula and be able to utilize various learning techniques in the successful delivery of the Nurturing Curricula
- At least two (2) years’ experience in the delivery of service those are resident-driven and work with families to address multiple issues in-home and/or community-based environment preferred
- Maintain certification in at least one approved educational curricula required by agency stakeholder
- Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write and speak) desirable
- Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as applicable
- State of Texas vehicle operator's license and proof of liability insurance
