Job Summary
Review and provide input on project designs, applications, and draft authorizations while conducting individual project-specific Effectiveness Reviews to identify areas needing improvement. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to influence cost-effective, operationally ready projects and support the development of Environmental Protection Plans, Construction and Environmental Monitoring Plans, and Care of Water Plans. Assist with reclamation planning, construction activities, closure planning, and on-site regulatory inspections and follow-up reporting. Ensure environmental aspects of all projects meet compliance standards at Fording River Operations. This site-based role requires a critical thinker with strong organizational skills to manage challenging priorities across multiple subject areas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years' experience providing technical direction on environmental risks and effective project evaluations associated with resource management
- Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations related to water and air quality, waste management, spill response, wildlife, fisheries and remediation
- Excellent project management experience with a track record that includes management and technical direction of multiple projects and budgets
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or Science in an environmental related field is preferred
- Hold, or have the ability to gain a professional designation and meet the BC provincial requirements of a qualified professional for applicable programs is an asset
