Project Technologist

Job Summary
Project Technologist role focused on Hazardous Materials (asbestos, mould, lead, mercury, PCBs) and Indoor Environmental Quality across Northern Ontario. Responsibilities include conducting site investigations, assessing building damage, collecting and interpreting samples (including PCM asbestos air samples), inspecting abatement/restoration work, coordinating sub-contractors, interpreting results against regulatory guidelines, and preparing clear technical reports while managing project timelines. Requires college diploma or engineering degree, strong communication, proficiency with MS Office, valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and willingness to work outside core hours. Based in Sudbury, ON with field-based responsibilities and client liaison across the region.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma in Environmental, Construction, or Architectural Technology, or a BSc / BASc in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with building construction or maintenance considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed, mature, and highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and reports
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle; able to travel to client sites
- Availability to work outside core business hours, including occasional weekends
- Ability to travel in Northern Ontario to meet project demands
