Project Team Leader, Biology
$175,000–$200,000 year
HybridLexington, Massachusetts, United States
Job Summary
Lead biology strategy and execution for oncology discovery programs spanning target validation through IND, designing in vitro and in vivo plans to characterize degrader and ADC candidates. Serve as the biology point person on cross-functional teams, partnering with chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, and CMC to advance candidates toward IND while overseeing end-to-end in vivo studies. Translate research strategy into workplans and timelines, anticipating risks and proposing data-driven mitigations. Mentor junior scientists to build ownership and independent decision-making rather than directing execution top-down, and analyze program status for research leadership. Requires a PhD in cancer biology with 8+ years of experience advancing oncology programs toward IND.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in cancer biology, molecular/cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience
- Master's degree with commensurate experience 12+ years
- demonstrated record of independently leading discovery programs
- Demonstrated track record advancing oncology discovery programs toward IND
- Program-level or hands-on experience with targeted protein degradation
- E3 ligase biology
- molecular glues and/or PROTACs
- ternary complex formation
- degradation assays (HiBiT, immunoblot, proteomics)
- Experience with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)
- target/antigen selection
- internalization
- linker-payload biology
- DAR
- bystander effect
- in vitro/in vivo characterization
- Proven ability to design and interpret in vivo oncology pharmacology studies

- Experience authoring or contributing to IND packages and interfacing with regulatory, DMPK, and toxicology functions
- Familiarity with biomarker and translational strategy in oncology
