Project Surveyor - Licensed

Job Summary
Lead boundary, right of way, topographic, utility, control, and construction surveys while conducting deed, record, and utility research. Plan project schedules, scopes, and budgets; open and close survey projects with administrative staff. Guide field and office team members using Trimble total stations, GPS, and levels, processing data in Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D. Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure specifications are met and communicate project updates to clients. Train new surveyors on equipment and techniques while adhering to state and federal regulations. Requires a licensed Professional Surveyor with 3-5 years of field experience and 1 year of office experience. Full-time, non-exempt role with minimal overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of previous experience in field surveying with at least one year of office experience
- Bachelor's Degree from a college or university in land surveying, engineering, geomatics, or engineering technology
- Professional Surveyor (PS) Registration in good standing of the State where assigned office resides
- Valid Driver's License required with a favorable driving record
- Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds and complete physical labor
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on difficult terrain, including entering wooded areas
- Flexibility to travel, including overnight, minimal as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Firm understanding of Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, and Open Roads Design (ORD) software
- Experienced with proposal preparation and project estimates
- Past experience working on DOT and State Turnpike projects
- Prequalified DOT Right of Way Plan Designer and/or Reviewer
- Additional experience beyond the minimum qualifications
- Efficient with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proficient with right of way plan review and legal description writing
