Job Summary
Project Surveyor is responsible for managing land surveying operations for construction and development projects, performing data collection (topographic, boundary, construction surveys), construction staking of layout points, lines, and grades for infrastructure, operating and maintaining survey instruments (total stations, GPS/GNSS, digital levels), producing detailed maps and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and leading field crews while ensuring regulatory compliance and data accuracy. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software, a surveying degree, and a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license are typical requirements, with 3–7+ years of experience in land surveying emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or similar field
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is often required or preferred
- 3–7+ years of experience in land surveying, specifically construction or boundary surveying
