Project Superintendent – Rail Grinding & Milling

Job Summary
Oversee and manage rail grinding and rail milling teams in North America, including approving expenses and payroll, scheduling rotations, and participating in hiring. Provide input to annual budget and cost control for rail grinding/milling programs. Identify rail surface defects and apply knowledge of track geometry/substructure to develop long-term rail treatment plans. Demonstrate knowledge of when to perform rail grinding vs milling and operate/maintain related equipment. Ensure on-site inspections and audits of equipment; lead field operations with on-call availability. Requires 5-7 years railway experience, familiarity with grinding/milling practices, strong coordinating skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years railway experience in railway engineering department
- Familiarity with grinding and milling practices
- Coordinating/influencing skills
- Strong communicator across multiple functions
- On-call availability outside of normal hours
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
