Job Summary
Lead design contributor and project manager on theatre planning projects, supervising documentation from conceptual room diagrams through theatrical lighting infrastructure, rigging, and stage machinery systems design. Oversee team coordination, maintain client relationships, prepare presentation materials, and guide project completion from planning phases through construction and opening. Manage complex design efforts with increased autonomy, develop new projects, prepare proposals, and mentor staff. Requires architectural or construction experience, proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Autodesk Revit, and willingness to travel. Based in Dallas with hybrid work options.
Required Qualifications
- substantial professional experience in technical theatre, live entertainment production, and/or theatre production design
- 5+ years prior experience in theatre consultancy or a similar position
- Experience with the architectural or construction field
- previous client engagement experience
- ability to represent Schuler Shook positively in client and industry settings
- excellent visual and verbal communicator
- ability to convey information clearly to different audiences
- ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- comfortable working independently
- leading teams
- mentoring staff
- knowledge of system design for theatrical lighting and rigging systems
- general understanding of the application of Codes and Standards to our work
- proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
