Job Summary
Observe job site conditions and workforce behavior to ensure safety, taking immediate corrective action for unsafe acts or areas. Report all observations verbally and in writing to management, and assist in planning work while guiding supervisors on safety briefs and task assignments. Respond to incidents by providing emergency aid, ensuring corrections eliminate further risks, and assisting in investigations. Inspect personal protection equipment and administer first aid for minor injuries while managing case management for on-the-job injuries.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- valid Driver's license
- at least 3 years in Industrial Field Safety
- able to meet all physical requirements
- able to work at heights more than 300 ft
- knowledgeable in basic paperwork skills
- reliable transportation
- good visual acuity and depth perception
- able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
- able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements
- Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft
Desired Qualifications
- Previous maintenance/TAR experience
- Current or previous Zachry/JVIC employee
- Holds certification (training) in one or all the following: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA, confined space (competent person), excavation (competent person), NCCER Field Safety, NCCER Safety Technology, and/or BCSP's certification
