Project Quality Specialist

Job Summary
Establish and deploy standardized quality processes for customer field installations, partnering with supervisors to ensure consistent application during product receipt, installation, and commissioning. Collect, validate, and analyze field quality data to identify recurring trends, then lead structured root cause investigations using 8D methodologies to manage Non-Conformance Reports and drive corrective actions. Coordinate end-to-end resolution of quality issues across multiple sites and with suppliers, translating field learnings into process improvements and design enhancements while maintaining communication with safety personnel. Partner with project managers to resolve quality concerns with minimal impact to delivery milestones, providing timely risk visibility and mitigation strategies. This role supports the Product Quality CoE in strengthening organizational capability through standardized processes and continuous improvement, requiring 70% office-based work and 30% field support with significant international travel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3–7+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, field service, supplier quality, or project-based operational environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective action, risk assessment, and issue closure processes
- Strong understanding of quality systems, tools, and methodologies (RCA, 8D, FMEA, risk assessment)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation requirements
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, quality dashboards, and related reporting systems
- Experience with quality management systems, such as QT9 or similar platforms, for document control, NCR management, and standard work administration
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Assembly, Field Operations, and Project Management teams
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work directly with suppliers, field teams, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation, follow-up, and process discipline
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify risks, escalate appropriately, and drive timely resolution
- Must be capable of completing extended airplane trips of 10 or more hours
- Overnight travel is estimated at approximately 30% to 40% of the time
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The employee frequently stands and walks
- The employee regularly uses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, talk, and hear
- Inspection work may also require entering confined spaces to take photos, capture dimensions, or verify belt tension
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting field installations, supplier quality, product integration, or customer site issue resolution
- Education in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience in automated material handling or intralogistics systems, such as singulators, sorters, conveyors, controls, or related equipment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- ASQ certification, such as CQI, CQA, or equivalent
- SAP experience
