Project Procurement Lead

Job Summary
Lead procurement activities across multiple projects in an engineering/procurement/construction environment, developing procurement plans and strategies, reviewing bid documents (RFQ/RFP) and conducting commercial bid evaluations, negotiating terms including progress payments, overseeing purchase of complex engineered equipment and services, mentoring a procurement team, and contributing to HR activities. Requires more than ten years in procurement with supervisory experience, advanced negotiation skills, post-secondary certification or equivalent, excellent organizational/communication abilities, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office, and a strong focus on quality. Remote work is not indicated for this role; the posting specifies a Calgary, Canada location with in-person work expectations. The role emphasizes planning, scheduling, and managing team responsibilities to meet project milestones and maintain procurement standards.
Required Qualifications
- More than ten (10) years of procurement experience with a minimum of six years of procurement experience at a supervisory level in an engineering, procurement, construction environment
- Demonstrated Advanced Negotiating Experience
- Post-secondary certification or equivalent experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment
- Ability to work without supervision
- Strong computer processing skills; competency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Focus on quality with an acute attention to detail
- Strong communication and influencing skills
