Job Summary
Project Planner role focused on planning and scheduling for major rail/infrastructure programmes in the North & Northwest region. Responsibilities include developing baseline plans and schedules, monitoring progress and variances, reporting earned value and financial forecasting, driving continuous improvement, and auditing contractor plans. Requires strong planning software proficiency (Visio), knowledge of schedule strategies, and experience with Power BI. Hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence minimum 3 days/week. 5+ years in project planning/scheduling, degree in Engineering/PM or related subject, and familiarity with UK mobility sector and various contracting environments. Collaborative role with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver value.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ year experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within major rail or infrastructure programmes.
- Experience of major engineering projects
- Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering, Project Management, or a related subject
- Strong understanding of UK mobility sector and project delivery requirements
- Proficient in planning software, Good Visio skills and visualising schedules
- Experience with project controls, cost engineering, and financial operations
- Familiarity with different contracting environments and commercial models
- Evidence of motivation & leadership of teams
- Must have proven experience of working with technical engineering staff and be able to communicate well at all levels of the organisation
