Job Summary
Summer Associate with the Project on Civic Dialogue will assist the Director and Program Coordinator on projects outside the school year, including collaboration with the Deliberative Citizenship Network. The role involves drafting fact patterns, identifying dialogue topics, suggesting syllabus improvements, and planning class presentations. The position supports course development for GOVT 352 and related offerings, utilizing PCD dialogue facilitation skills to review and revitalise the existing GOVT-352 course syllabus. The role is available only to enrolled AU students and requires about 10 hours per week at $18.40/hour. The position is non-exempt and part-time.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled American University students
- Part-time availability
- Experience with Civic Dialogue or GOVT 352 coursework (GOVT 184: Dialogue for Civic Engagement)
- Ability to draft fact patterns, identify dialogue topics, and design interactive activities
- Ability to revise course syllabi and assist with course-related tasks
