Project Officer (Vietnamese Diabetes Peer Support Program)

Job Summary
Coordinate weekly implementation of the Vietnamese Diabetes Peer Support Program in the City of Yarra and City of Greater Dandenong. Support the bicultural health worker with session planning, preparation and delivery, ensuring peer support sessions are culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming. Manage program logistics (venues, guest speakers, catering, materials, session requirements), attend and support sessions, and liaise with Vietnamese community organisations, health services and local networks. Promote the program through culturally appropriate channels, assist with translation and interpretation of health literacy resources, and support the evaluation framework (pre-/post-surveys, feedback) and final reporting for council requirements. Demonstrates strong organizational and project coordination skills, engages diverse communities respectfully, and contributes to evaluation and reporting. Fluency in Vietnamese and English is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, community health, nursing, social sciences or a related field.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Experience coordinating community-based programs or health initiatives.
- Fluency in Vietnamese (spoken and written) and English is highly desirable.
