Job Summary
Conduct complex HVAC ductwork, piping, and equipment selection design for large-scale buildings while directing less experienced staff and providing technical leadership. Prepare Revit/BIM modeling from schematic to construction administration phases, review shop drawings for compliance, and specify mechanical equipment such as boilers and chillers. Serve as an independent QAQC reviewer, respond to RFIs and change orders, and conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe progress. Collaborate with the Project Manager on labor plans, schedules, and value engineering sessions to ensure contractual obligations and budget success. Represent the company in client meetings, business development, and professional committees. Perform 80% project billable work with full benefits, 401k, and remote options available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Current PE in the United States
- Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes
- Ability to work independently in all mechanical disciplines with no oversight or guidance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a critical thinker
- Must be highly analytical
- Must have the ability to engage effectively with clients
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred
- Current PE in the United States preferred
- LEED accreditation is preferred
