Job Summary
The Project Manager will manage multiple projects from Procurement through Construction, Final Acceptance, and Closeout as part of the MTA’s Small Business Development and Mentoring Program. Responsibilities include performing constructability reviews, overseeing construction activities, providing direction to contractors, scheduling job progress meetings, and ensuring compliance with contract documents. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 7-10 years of construction management experience, along with strong communication and project management skills. Familiarity with project management software is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a satisfactory equivalent
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of satisfactory, full-time experience in Design and/or Construction Management
- Infrastructure construction experience with the work of the MTA or similar public agency
- Significant experience in effectively managing small contractors on multiple projects while adhering to budget and schedule
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in project management, supervision, analysis of technical/legal questions and cost analysis
- Familiarity with Scheduling, Cost Estimating and software such as MS Project, MS Office
- Ability to document and report project issues through Electronic Project Management programs
Desired Qualifications
- MTA project management experience with previous track safety training
- PE License
- NICET I or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Prior experience training, mentoring or teaching related topics
