Job Summary
Wetland Project Manager needed to lead and coordinate wetlands-focused environmental consulting projects in the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities include developing and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets; supervising technical report writing (wetland delineations, biological assessments, mitigation plans); navigating local, state, and federal permitting (SEPA/NEPA, Clean Water Act, WA DOE); directing field and desk research; ensuring accuracy and compliance with agency guidelines; mentoring junior staff; coordinating with clients, internal teams, agencies, and tribal representatives; and conducting/overseeing fieldwork such as tree assessments and inventories. The role combines client-facing project management with technical wetland science execution and mentorship, with hybrid work flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in wetland science or resource permitting in Washington State
- 2+ years of project management experience in private environmental consulting
- Demonstrated expertise with the USACE Wetland Delineation Manual and WA State Wetland Rating Systems
- Experience obtaining Nationwide Permits and Individual Permits under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 401 Water Quality Certifications, and Administrative Orders with the Washington State Department of Ecology
- Experience with mitigation planning, restoration design, or functional assessments is a plus
- PWS certification preferred, but not required
- Valid WA driver's license and ability to navigate variable field conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; GIS/GPS experience preferred
- Strong scientific writing and communication skills
- Experience with Deltek VantagePoint considered an asset
