Job Summary
Project Manager - Water Resources: Develop and prepare proposals for environmental services; define scope of field and laboratory investigations; prepare cost estimates and project schedules; define deliverables; prepare, deliver and discuss proposal documents with clients. Assist in managing all aspects of a project, including financial and technical components; direct and manage project staff; design remediation strategies and programs; coordinate subcontractor/subconsultant efforts; develop and present project-specific or technical presentations to clients or technical organizations and in-house staff; communicate with clients and representatives of regulatory agencies to coordinate regulatory approvals; develop and maintain professional business relationships with targeted clients; conduct periodic site/client visits and project/business development meetings; assist in developing business strategies and action plans for growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Geology, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science / Health, Natural Resources, or related degree from a 4-year accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer’s registration is a plus.
- 8+ years of demonstrated experience in Water Quality/Resource management.
- Working knowledge of Clean Water Act (CWA) and associated programs (NPDES, permitting & compliance).
- Understanding of state environmental regulations (MI, OH).
- Emergency response planning (SPCC, FRP, SWPPP, PIP, OPA90).
- Sediment cleanup and benthic studies.
- Stormwater management design and permitting.
- Water-use assessments and permitting.
- Experience completing hydraulics and/or hydrologic modeling.
- Experience with CWA compliance matters related to industrial and utility facilities.
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, delegation, and financial management.
- Experience leading and growing a team of diverse professionals.
- Ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports as well as perform QA/QC reviews on work product.
- Project planning, budgeting, task delegation and management to ensure project is completed according to work plans.
- Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate collaborative approach to problem-solving, and have ability to interact with clients to understand their needs.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
- May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
