Job Summary

Manage operations by developing initial project estimates with sales, supporting proposal development, and executing short and long-term projects to achieve target gross margins and production milestones. Oversee weekly job cost updates, monthly revenue projections, and project teams by defining scope, schedule, and budget while directing communication and follow-up. Motivate staff to maximum productivity, facilitate safety and training meetings, and establish procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans. Serve as the project representative at kick-off meetings, job walks, and reviews with clients, constructors, subcontractors, and vendors. Identify scope, budget, and schedule changes to secure necessary approvals, coordinate training compliance measures, and maintain ongoing client communication to adjust deliverables as needed. Provide mentoring to Field Supervisors and crews to promote employee development. Requires 5+ years of underground utility management experience, ability to obtain a contractor license, and extensive leadership in safety, negotiations, and contract administration.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years' underground utility management experience
  • Prior experience as Project Manager or Project Engineer where responsibilities include field operations in a service-related utility industry, estimating, contracts management, and client relations
  • Ability to obtain underground utility contractor license
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding HUSA's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise
  • Team building leader, with strong planning and organizational skills; adept in operations including contracts, negotiations, estimating, project operational controls, and dispute resolution
  • Proficiency in planning and management of scope of work and time estimation
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills at the executive level
