Job Summary
Develop program budgets and schedules for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft. Support proposal content creation for NASA, government, and commercial customers while communicating with engineering disciplines, partners, and vendors to resolve technical risks. Build bottom-up estimates including bills of materials, cash flow models, and labor estimates for early technology development projects and paid architecture studies. Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure project schedules and budgets comply with mission needs and the company technology roadmap. Occasionally visit customers, supply chain, and partner organizations for technical interchange. This role defines end-to-end mission concepts for Astrobotic's future lunar pursuits within Advanced Programs.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or similar related discipline
- 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Relevant advanced degree
- Demonstrated experience in project or program management
- Demonstrated experience in project finance
- Demonstrated experience in program planning
- Experience developing programmatic content for proposals and external customer presentations
- Experience authoring and decomposing financial and contractual volumes
- Strong understanding of the launch, space, and lunar environments
- Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
- Applicant must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)
- Applicant must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of full development lifecycle of large complex aerospace systems
- Experience with large NASA or other USG proposals and contracts
- Knowledge of NASA/industry engineering standards
- Demonstrated experience working in an agile environment, using organizational tools such as Confluence and Jira
