Job Summary
Conduct and oversee studies for power flow, transient stability, transfer capability, short-circuit, electromagnetic, reliability, and economic dispatch while interpreting NERC and FERC standards. Lead proposal development, budgeting, and scheduling to define project objectives with clients, then manage end-to-end delivery including scope, schedule, and quality control. Negotiate contracts, analyze risks and costs for stakeholders, and mentor teams of engineers and analysts. Identify cross-selling opportunities and engage in industry networking to expand service offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years in transmission system studies
- At least 3 years in project management
- Extensive knowledge of electric transmission systems, planning processes, and operations
- Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Promod
- Familiarity with NERC and FERC standards and regional transmission operators (e.g., PJM, MISO, ERCOT)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degrees such as an MBA or MS in Electrical Engineering
- Professional engineering registration
- Experience mentoring and leading technical teams
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
